The roadworks map is hosted externally to Gloucestershire County Council on the One Network website. You will need to use an up-to-date web browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox etc in order to view the map.

The map is updated every few minutes to show planned works across the county’s highway network.

Floods:

Flooding information can be found on the Environmental Agency (EA) website – https://flooding-warning-information.service.gov.uk/warnings. From here by putting in your postcode you can then find useful information on the Haw Bridge Gauge Board, the five-day flood risk forecast as well as advice on flooding.

Tewkesbury Borough Council have a good supply of filled sandbags at the Public Services Centre – they are available to vulnerable residents who have registered with them to receive assisted waste collections and they have mechanisms in place to deliver to these vulnerable residents, should this be necessary. Please phone 01684 295010.

If you know of someone who needs sandbags outside of office hours, please call: 01684 293445. Alternatively, they have empty sandbags that residents can take and fill themselves – builders merchants should have a good stock of sand or soil can also be put in bin bags and used in the same way as sandbags.

TBC are now in the process of assessing the impact that this current incident has had on residents in terms of numbers of properties affected.  It is difficult to get an accurate picture as some areas are inaccessible and many residents don’t report property flooding to TBC or ask for assistance.  If you know of any residents who are affected with water inside their properties then please do let TBC know by emailing customerservices@tewkesbury.gov.uk.

The National Flood Forum support team, along with Tewkesbury Borough Council’s Community officers and other agencies, will be visiting Tewkesbury, Tirley, Sandhurst, Minsterworth and Longford from Tuesday, 23 April in a mobile support vehicle.   Chris Ashman, Executive Director of Place said: ‘’We understand how difficult the recent flooding events this year have been and encourage residents who have been affected to come along to any of the drop-in sessions available.   ‘’Council officers and partner agencies such as Severn Trent Water and the Environment Agency will be available alongside the National Flood Forum support team, offering practical advice and support to recover from the effects of flooding.’’   Residents can attend drop-in information sessions, receive tailored recovery advice, assistance with insurance matters, finding the right tradespeople, installation of flood defences and exploring available grants and financial assistance. The mobile unit and teams will visit the following locations – no appointment is necessary.

·                     Friday, 26 April – Tewkesbury, Gloucester Road car park, 9.30am – 1pm  

Heather Shepherd, Flood Recovery Specialist for the National Flood Forum said: “Having been flooded myself, I understand how traumatic it is. I know that the process of recovery is fraught with stresses and pressures, which is why I would urge anyone who has any flood-related issues or questions to come along to the recovery trailer.    ‘’We are here to help, offer advice, and guide you to the best sources of professional support and actively listen to your concerns.” During the drop-in sessions the National Flood Forum, Gloucestershire County Council, the Environment Agency and Severn Trent Water will be available offering local advice and support in partnership with the borough council.

Floods affecting roads February 2020:

TBC are aware of the problems that some road closures in Tewkesbury town are having on the road network, particularly around the Prior Park estate, and they are working with partners to look at how this is alleviated as soon as possible.
